The building is a reproduction of the living castle that appears in the story, and has a mechanism that causes parts of the castle to move and emit smoke several times an hour. On the first floor are Calcifer's furnace, sink, table, and Sophie's room, and on the second floor are Howl's bedroom, wardrobe, studio, bathroom, and Markl's room. You can experience how Howl and his friends live inside the castle.
